Hapman Solidquid™ System Delivers Engineered Powder Induction for Liquid Processing Applications
September 26, 2026
Solidquid™ is designed to help manufacturers address challenges associated with adding dry powders to liquid processes. The system conditions dry material as needed and meter-feeds free-flowing, clump-free powder at a controlled rate for consistent introduction. A wetting cone then brings powder and motive liquid together before the material reaches the eductor, helping reduce clumping before the material enters the liquid stream.
The system’s venturi powder eductor uses motive-liquid flow to create suction that draws wetted powder into the moving liquid stream. This entrainment process delivers material downstream and, through pre-wetting and incorporation into the liquid stream, can help reduce powder clumping and dusting in downstream tanks. It can also facilitate better downstream mixing and help shorten downstream mix and residence times.
Every Solidquid™ system is configured around the material characteristics and process requirements of the application. The powder eductor is selected based on the specific powder, liquid, required feed rate, available pressure and downstream process conditions. Material characteristics such as bulk density, specific gravity and required feed rate are evaluated when configuring the powder eductor and supporting equipment.
The system is intended for dry powders that are free-flowing, free of clumps and capable of being consistently meter-fed. Materials that do not flow reliably can interfere with consistent feeding and may plug the system. Sugar and yeast are examples of materials commonly used in Solidquid™ applications.
For batch and continuous processes, Solidquid™ can be configured around the applicable feeding method, powder eductor, controls and overall system requirements. Hapman has configured Solidquid™ systems with both batch and continuous loss-in-weight feeding arrangements.
Solidquid™ can be supplied as part of a larger Hapman material handling system. Depending on the application, Hapman can integrate bag or bulk bag unloading, bag dump stations, conveying, metering, feeders, lump breakers and controls. This integration provides coordinated material flow from dry-material handling through powder induction, allowing Hapman to address the full powder-to-liquid process rather than treating the powder eductor as an isolated piece of equipment.
